Arrival in Kigali, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your adventure begins with your arrival at the Kigali International Airport, where you will be met by our friendly tour guide. After a brief introduction, we will embark on a scenic journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of Uganda's oldest and most biodiverse rainforests. The drive will take you through breathtaking scenery, with rolling hills, vibrant green valleys, and stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Along the way, we will make a stop at the Uganda-Rwanda border, where you will go through customs and immigration. After that, we will continue our journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving in the late afternoon. You will check in to your lodge, where you will spend the night in comfort, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today is the day you have been waiting for! After an early breakfast, we will set off into the forest, accompanied by an experienced guide and trackers. The trek can take between 1-6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family you are assigned to visit.
As you hike through the dense jungle, you will hear the sounds of the forest all around you, including the calls of birds and monkeys. And then, finally, you will come face to face with the majestic mountain gorillas. This encounter is truly awe-inspiring, as you watch the gorillas go about their daily routine, interacting with each other and their environment.
You will have an hour with the gorillas, during which time you can take photos, observe their behavior, and learn about their conservation status from your guide. After the encounter, we will hike back to the lodge, where you can rest and relax, or take a nature walk to explore the surroundings.
Return to Kigali
After breakfast, we will check out of the lodge and head back towards Kigali. Along the way, we will make a stop at a local community project to learn about the impact of tourism on the region and how it supports the conservation of gorillas and their habitat. We will also have a chance to buy some souvenirs to take home.
In the afternoon, we will arrive in Kigali, where you can choose to visit some of the city's attractions, such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial or the colorful Kimironko market. We will then drop you off at the airport for your departure flight.
