Photo Adventure Uganda (Sipi Falls and Jinja)

Up for some photo action and dramatic nature? Take your chances with our eastern loop, visiting Jinja and Sipi falls. Opt for Rafting, bungee jumping, mountain biking, horse riding, Nile river sunset cruise, abseiling, hiking, coffee tours among other activities. Sipi Falls is located in Eastern Uganda in Kapchorwa district. The location has got three series of waterfalls. Sipi falls lie on the edge of Mountain Elgon National Park which is bordering Kenya. Brief itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Jinja, Zipline in Mabira forest, Evening Boat Cruise on the Nile, Tea estate sunset photoshoot Day 2: Rafting and optional Bungee Jumping – Drive to Kapchorwa(Sipi Falls) Day 3: Sipi Falls Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala and Stop over at Jinja art studio for a creative art experience with a local artist.

Day 1: Departure

You will be picked up from your residence by 7 am, and drive through Kampala taking the route to eastern Uganda. The first place to visit is the Sezibwa Falls that you will reach after 1 hour’s drive from Kampala. Have 1-hour walk at these cultural grounds and enjoy the beautiful waterfalls, lush scenery and observe some wildlife including birds, butterflies, monkeys, etc…We later proceed to Mabira rainforest after the Sezibwa Falls tour, for yet another exciting nature experience. Set out on a 2-hour trek into the forest and enjoy an up-close encounter with an array of wildlife including monkeys, birds, trees, butterflies, etc… After the forest tour, we shall get back on the road and drive to Jinja for your lunch. You will have a 30 minute stop at Uganda’s first suspended bridge; good for day time photos and captivating views of the Nile when walking across. We then head for the Source of the Nile for a 1-hour boat ride on the Nile to Source of the Nile monument, enjoy nice views across Lake Victoria and observe plenty of water birds and other wildlife. later we visit the Kasaku tea estate for a million dollar sunset photo. Overnight in Jinja town.

Day 2

Following breakfast, one can opt for a full day of white water rafting or half day quad biking on the Nile. People of different levels of experience can go for rafting from beginners to professionals and this has made it one of the finest places for water rafting as well as kayaking. Grab some quick lunch and later in the late afternoon, you will go bungee jumping as you take the leap of faith and drop over 50 meters from the platform to the River below. If you are a daredevil you can ask the handlers to adjust the ropes so you can touch the water. Set off to the Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa. Spend the overnight adjacent the main Sipi waterfall and enjoy a relaxing night listing to the sound of the fall water and songs of birds.

Day 3

Have early breakfast and set out for the Sipi Falls hiking adventure! The trek to each of the 3 waterfalls covers an approximately 7km trail and can be covered in 3 hours on average. Each of the waterfalls offers a unique experience. You will also have an opportunity to explore 100 meters deep caves. Along the trail, you’ll get access wonderful views of the Mt. Elgon slopes and panoramic views of the distant Karamoja plains. The hike also goes through coffee plantations and local communities which gives a brief encounter with the local people. After the long hike, you do return to the lodge for some relaxation and lunch. In the late afternoon, opt for a coffee or mountain bike tour and eventually return to your lodge for the night.

Day 4

After breakfast, pack your luggage for departure to Kampala. You will have a brief city tour in Mbale to buy souvenirs and proceed with the journey to Kampala. On arrival, you will have lunch and our driver will drop you off at your hotel.
